Strawberries
Sep.26.2025
Strawberries are classified as june-bearing, everbearing, or day-neutral, each with distinct photoperiod requirements. They generally perform best under moderate to high light intensities (300–450 μmol/m²/s) and daytime temperatures below 25°C to avoid stress and suppressed flowering. Cool nights improve fruit quality.

Spectrum strongly affects strawberry morphology and yield. Full spectra supplemented with far-red light improve yield and plant architecture in many varieties. LEDs are preferable to HPS due to their low heat output, enabling high light intensities without excessive temperatures—simplifying climate control and reducing HVAC costs.
